Marcella de Boom Solo Exhibition 1 May - 19 May 2005 Marcella de Boom is a versatile artist whose paintings and drawings with their earthiness, abundant colours and great variety of themes have over the years won a special place in the hearts of many art lovers. Her forthcoming exhibition consists of a series of oil paintings entitled “Times of Light”. They are directly inspired by her self-built earth house in Cullinan with its handmade glass windows, ceramics and raw textures. Her paintings depict precious moments imbued with a light which is at times mysterious and at times joyful and radiant. Marcella’s exhibition “Times of Light” is opened on Sunday 1 May 2005 at 17:30 for 18:00 in the Mackie Street gallery of the Association of Arts Pretoria by Hilary Silberman, President of the International Women’s Club of Pretoria, and runs till Thursday 19 May 2005.
