AFRICAN UNITY: An exhibition celebrating Africa month

This exhibition aims to encourage unity amongst all Africans. The exhibition advocates for peace, African pride and a celebration of Africa’s liberation. The exhibition comprises of artworks selected from the Permanent Collection of Oliewenhuis Art Museum which includes artworks by pioneering South African artists such as Jodi Bieber, Dumisani Mabaso, Alexis Preller and Nandipha Mntambo. The artworks chosen express the beautiful African landscape, an appreciation of women as well as the progress of Africa throughout colonialism, apartheid and segregation. Furthermore some of the selected artworks celebrate the diversity of African music and aim at a better socio-economic culture throughout the continent, while urging for the inclusion of the once marginalised individuals in attempts to mandate the realization of a more transformed Africa.
