A group exhibition of prints curated by Karen McKerron
The North-South Heartbeat series combines European and African imagery with an electro-cardiogram of a beating
heart symbolising life on a cultural boundary. The Five Senses series is a personal adaptation of an age-old art
Printmaking reflects the artist’s love of interpreting the lines, patterns, movements and moods of the human figure and natural environment. The medium of printmaking lends itself to narrative and conceptual work: ideas drawn from poetry, literature, memory and social issues.
Mary Jane Hooper
The images in this series are based on paintings by the Old Masters that were the perfect foil for the environmental
message the artist wanted to convey. As a printmaker, black and white is her preferred palette with limited use of colour for impact.
Participating: Titia Ballot, Peace Petty and Mary Jane Hooper
