Benjamin Mitchley is an internationally successful South African fine artist, illustrator, self-taught animator and augmented reality artist. He was born on January 1, 1967, in the Free State. He studied fine arts at Vaal University of Technology and Tshwane University of Technology from 1985 to 1987. Technology plays an essential role in his creative process. Augmented reality has made it possible to view his artwork in a different way. The introduction of AR in conjunction with the Artivive app has allowed the viewer to use a mobile device to bring his artwork to life. This medium has led him on a new journey with exhibitions in collaboration with the Artivive company, which has brought him international attention in Spain, Miami, New York, Canada, South Korea and Germany.
