 Ga ke se bope ga se ipope - fragments of what we carry Opening: 20 May 2026 at 18:00 - 24 July 2026 Participating: Lerato Motaung Ga ke se bope, Ga se ipope brings together second-hand luggage and donkey carts marked by past journeys. Rather than treating these as empty objects, Motaung allows their histories to exist alongside his reflections on movement, loss, and memory.
Using aged suitcases, he reactivates discarded materials, while repetition drawn from painting and printmaking extends into the space, layering objects like impressions. Viewers move through the work, engaging with materials that carry emotional weight. Fragments shape the exhibition, where memory appears as pieces held over time.
