Marina was born in Johannesburg in the 60’s, attended the German school and has a diploma in Ceramics.

In the 80s and 90s she ran a ceramic design studio, creating unique ceramic ornaments for the interior designers. In the 00s she opened a private sculpture school where she has helped to launch the career of a number of other successful sculptors.

She is a mid-career artist with large public and international works to her name. Her life size bronzes, and concrete works can be viewed in London and in public spaces in South Africa. She has exhibited and sold works at over 20 group shows and fairs in the 30 years as a ceramic designer and sculptor.

Marina has worked in the mediums of ceramics, bronze, sandstone, concrete, marble and wood. Materiality is an important factor in her sculptures, and she is never limited to one medium. She holds craftsmanship in high regard but also allows the medium to speak and influence the direction of her work. This is very visible in her latest wooden totems.
