It symbolises to me marriage. The white swan representing the white dress traditionally worn at Western cultural weddings, a symbol of purity. Swans are also often a symbol of love or fidelity because of their long-lasting apparently monogamous relationships. It appears that the fire consumes and almost integrates with the swan. Fire often symbolizes eternity and forever. Yet as we all know how fragile marriage can be, it can last forever or frizzle out by a swan’s natural habitat, water which in contrast can blaze out a fire.
