Swazi:

  • Traditional dresses are particular to gender and age.
  • An infant to aged 3 wear protective medicines only and from there is given a loin skin. Females of these age groups sometimes only wear colourful string of beads.
  • When they are older men are required to wear loin skin and a penis cap and females wear a skirt made from grass and tonga fabric. This is accompanied by bead necklaces.
  • Unmarried females wear a dress of fabric and hold their hair in a bun. Just after being married, they wear skin skirts, aprons and an apron that is tied under their armpits.
  • Married men wear lion skins.
