Sanna Swart's work possesses a certain spirituality without ever becoming blatant testimony. Often a piece is simultaneously highly exciting and deeply moving. It is influenced by the mythical, the metaphysical, the primal instinct and the intellectual analysis of life itself.

She states: "We are scatterings on our own planet; vagabonds, displaced and fragmented on all levels of humanness. We are souls scattered in our own sense of belonging, trying to decode our ever increasing, complex world. In all of this we have to bring our minds to a space of silence, of stillness, contemplation, becoming empty in order to feel our own breath becoming part of the Oneness that is in all of us."
