Reassembled Books (2025)

In these works, I engage with the notion of the ‘book’ as found object and I allow the alchemical processes to occur between the narrative, the materials and the personal. I sew the pages together with thread and needle. Old fashioned book binding. As a mixed media artist, I love this conversation that unfolds between word and image on the page. Previous examples would be my illuminated word in neon, combined with the clay heads.

The ‘found object’, the book, once a vessel of traditional linear narratives, after being taken apart and resewed, the reassembled state becomes a site of deconstruction and re-imagination in my hands. By altering the cover and internal structure, I disrupt its original story and create layers of new meaning.
